Old Tales of LA
Michael Rayson’s forbears were a cast of lively characters who left their imprint on 19th- and 20th-century California. In his colorful family history and memoir Old Tales of LA, Rayson shares their stories, as well as his own boyhood in South Central Los Angeles and his education in the performing arts at Pomona’s Devils Ring Theatre and the Claremont Playhouse.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Michael Rayson has been a director at the Claremont Playhouse and a producer of more than eighty television commercials for Ogilvy & Mather. His production company, the Mickleack Players, performed up and down the West Coast for three years. He currently lives on the Hawaiian island of O‘ahu.
