Gecko—the house bully—has embarked on a one-lizard mission to eat every bug in the hale (house). He’s only a few inches tall, but that’s still big enough to be a bully when there are smaller creatures around—like Mosquito and her friends. But Mosquito is tired of being chased and harassed by the greedy mo‘o. She hatches a clever plan and frees the household bugs from Gecko’s tyranny. Gecko may be bigger, but he’s definitely not smarter.
Told in rhyming verse, with a liberal sprinkling of Hawaiian words and a glossary, Gecko and Mosquito shows children that sometimes the least likely person can be the biggest hero.
Hardcover w/ dustjacket; 32 pp.
